C.A.S.T. provides after school enrichment classes and rehearsals on campus at area elementary schools for students Kinder through 5th grade. This highly successful program is an introduction to the wonderful world of performing arts and not only teaches students about acting, but also about teamwork, respect, integrity, and responsibility.

Slap your Facebook and get off your Twitter! It’s about time kids step away from the computer and into media that is truly social. OFFLINE is a two-hour Improv comedy workshop taught by Shawn Patrello. Participants will be challenged with exercises like “hyperlinks” and games such as “instagrahamcracker” and “hashtag” will reboot brains and get funny-bones back on-line. Workshops are available 1st and 3rd Saturdays in the Fall beginning in September. Limited to 15 students.
There is a big difference between stage acting and acting for the camera. Both types of skills are necessary to be successful in the field of acting. Our TV/Film acting classes culminate in demo reel material.
No preparation necessary. Beginners welcome. Students will be asked to read from the script. Every student will receive a role.

For 20 + years, Donna worked in broadcast and corporate television and was an award-winning actor, producer, director, and writer. Donna worked on a variety of projects and mediums including commericals, broadcast programming, corporate marketing projects, live staged events, and more. Along her journey, Donna has collaborated with some of the most talented actors, directors, writers, makeup artists, dancers, and musicians in the area. C.A.S.T. is pleased to be able to leverage from many of these relationships and bring their expertise to you. Shawn has been performing and teaching improvisational comedy in Dallas, TX since 1986. He has been a member of Kidprov, an art-in-education improv troupe that travels throughout Texas teaching and entertaining school students of all ages, for almost 25 years. He has also been a member of Himprov, a local Christian improv troupe, for over 13 years. In addition to working with Kidprov and Himprov, Shawn has been a professional doctor clown at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and Cook Children’s in Ft. Worth for the past 10 years. He is also an accomplished character actor working in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Acting for TV/Film
Doug has been acting since Tom Sawyer talked him into painting his fence in 3rd grade. Doug attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he was at home on the stage. After SFA, Doug moved to New York where he worked on a movie with Adam West and became one of the founding members of the world famous Jekyll and Hyde Club in mid-town Manhattan. He also produced multiple comedy shows in various sized houses, including producing and staring in a relief show for the American Red Cross workers helping with the 9/11 clean up. On camera Doug has appeared in commercials for ABC College Football, The NBA, WWE, voiced a character in Blues Clues and many more. You can see Doug as the loveable goofball, Troy, weekly on the syndicated sitcom, iShine Knect, seen by over a million people every weekend. In 2014 Doug won best Thriller Short and Best Ensemble Acting at the Bare Bones Film Festival for his short-film, A Convenient Man. Currently Doug also teaches improv and acting classes for teens and adults at KD Conservatory and is a member of the Improv group Himprov performing in churches across the state. Doug truly believes he is meant to teach today’s youth and help get them started on this amazing path of acting, right here at C.A.S.T.!

Mark is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and studied
Music Performance at the University of Houston. He has been performing for more than
twenty years at many of the venues in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area.
As a gifted and talented artist Mark has performed all over the United States, Europe,
and has worked numerous cruise ship venues. Currently, he is performing with the Young
Unique band at Arthurs in Addison, Texas. Additionally , he serves as the Praise &
Worship Leader for The Journey located in Sachse, Texas.
Mark owns and operates OneTake Studios in Lewisville, Texas where he records, engineers, and produces bands from the Dallas area. Among those recently recorded and produced
are: Amber Open Skies, The Paradigm, Hero Appeal, Oceans Before Us, and
Mark has had the privilege of working with top name artists such as Wayne Newton, Bobby Fuller, Larry Gatlin, the Gatlin Brothers, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Lee, Mary Wells, Crystal Bernard, Robin Bernard, YaYa Ibarra, Rebecca St. James, Tony Campisi, Kirk Whalem and Everett Harp.
His instructional approach is innovative and contemporary in style. Mark offers an array of music lessons including piano, keyboards, voice, Computer recording, song writing,
arranging, composition and instrumentation.
